Federal style row house located in the historic district of Capitol Hill. An easy walk to Union Station, the U.S. Capitol, The National Mall, Eastern Market and the new and exciting H Street corridor.
Highly recommended! Danuta is super accommodating and communicates really well prior to the stay. The house is old but makes up for it with charm. It was a perfect central location as tourists visiting DC. We were able to walk to the capital in under 20 minutes, back from a concert at RFK stadium in under 35 minutes, and easily walked to markets, lunch and dinners on the H street corridor. The neighborhood is nice so if you're uneasy about the safety in DC this is a good spot for you.
Our family of 4 stayed for 11 nights at Danuta's house - and we felt right at home. The house is perfectly described in the listing. It is an old house with wood floors and Danuta has added to its charm with her artistic eye and decor, while at the same time, adding modern comforts and conveniences - comfortable beds, a new fridge and gas stove, and fast wi-fi. The location is just over 6 blocks to Union Station, a 15 minute walk to Eastern Market (or 6 minutes on the 90/92 bus) or the H St. Corridor. Giant Supermarket is about 12 minutes walk away. Danuta was very communicative and helpful throughout our stay. Parking was a small challenge (only 2 hour street parking on weekdays), so best without a car. Danuta was inventive with her suggestions, however, so we made it work. Overall, great house, great host!
