we love our home and welcome you to join us in our activities or find your own place to relax. The porch and yard are wonderful in summer with fruit trees, flowers and horseshoes on Sunday and chickens all the time. The fireplace is always going in the winter and we like to play games or music with friends.
We are available to our guests as they like. Some want to hang out, others have plans and a focus and little time to visit. All are welcome.
We do this because we like people and we like to share our home. We entertain often. We are happy to welcome you.
Please communicate-be nice, be respectful, clean up after yourself, ask if you need something smoke outside or if it's wicked cold in the basement. You must talk with me about any pets you may plan to bring before you book. We love animals but because we have some of our own we need to be sure they will all be happy and safe.
A lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley I became an independent real estate investor after a successful 20+ yr career in Brokerage. This gives me wonderful flexibility and travel, gardening, and great books are some of my hobbies. I also love to cook. I am a guest as well as a host. I have always preferred to stay like a local rather than in hotels where you meet mostly other tourists. I love the operas in Prague, the market in the Blessed Valley, the french quarter in the early morning and the hot sweet cacophany India. I want to get the feel of an area I am visiting, Airbnb is great for that. My hosts help me discover the treasures of an area I would probably have missed in a short stay and give me a home base to relax after a days exploring. I have a great husband, Richy, and 3 wonderful kids, who usually don't live at home (the kids that is) but visit often. We have 2 cats and some chickens and are open to well behaved friendly pet visitors. We love having guests and have always hosted. Family from out of town, exchange students that still come and bring their families , friends from other parts all have a home here. Richy is retired now and an avid hiker, writing a book on the Hudson Highlands, so if you like the natural beauty of the Hudson Highlands he is a wealth of information. We enjoy the opportunity of introducing to our area to others. Dia and Storm King Art Center are both nearby as well as West Point Military Academy and Woodbury Commons. The majestic Hudson is about 2 blocks away and there is a public park to launch boats there (Plum Point Park). We have kyacks and they can launch for free. It is about 1 hour to NYC. We are flexible and happy. Life is good!! We welcome your visit.
