Casa Romantica is all about the details! Not only will you have 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, comfortable living area and FULL kitchen, but also enjoy your own private pool, 2 ACs, luxury linens and towels, US Netflix, 2 bicycles, board games, and 24/7 personal concierge, all in an EXCELLENT location!
Can't decide between a "luxury" hotel with all the comforts of home or a more "authentic" experience renting a Nicaraguan house with fewer amenities? Casa Romantica bridges the gap and beats either choice, by giving guests the privacy, space and authenticity of a true Nicaraguan colonial home while also providing higher end details not even found in Granada's most expensive hotels (luxury linens and bedding from US, including 1800 thread count sheets, ultra soft monogrammed waffle robes, 3" feather mattress toppers on both beds, and the best / largest bath and beach towels available), full time personal concierge available 24/7 for our guests, 2 bicycles provided for complimentary guest use, actual hot water from real pipes at every tap instead of the "suicide electric showerheads" usually found in hotels and rental homes in Nicaragua, extremely cold AC units (1800 BTU units in each bedroom), additional water pressure pump, 8 ceiling fans and 2 oscilating floor fans, full kitchen equipped with details not commonly found in other rentals like toaster, blender, microwave, coffee maker, espresso machine and vegetable chopper, as well as full size fridge, freezer, oven and 6 burner gas stove, wireless Bluetooth speakers, Rokus that stream American Netflix (mostly English) on 3 flatscreen TVs, full TV cable with 100+ channels (mostly Spanish), high speed secure Wifi with 2 routers for strong connections both upstairs and downstairs, 2 wireless printers, surge protectors for safely charging phones, laptops, tablets and other electronics (frequent power surges and outages in Nicaragua), purified water tank, board games and pool toys provided, travel books and maps for guest use, washer / dryer unit (in locked closet but available upon request), iron, real 1875 watt hairdryer, inflatable extra 24" queen bed available in closet (in addition to the 2 "real" Queen beds in bedrooms), security safe in master bedroom, food and drink delivery service (additional fees may apply for this service), and many other things not available in any other hotel or rental property in Granada. Not to mention the privacy and convenience of coming and going as you please, in your own colonial home in Granada! Excellent location, just one block from San Francisco Convent on a safe and convenient street with great neighbors, 5 min walk to most tourist attractions in colonial Granada but not a major Calle with middle of the night noise, providing a convenient location and a peaceful night's sleep for single travelers, couples, families with kids, business travelers or groups of friends. Unique air conditioned TV room (or 2nd bedroom, depending on guests' needs), extra water pressure pump for morning showers when the rest of the city has only a trickle, emergency ceiling light in case of power outages, longer indoor / outdoor pool for multiple guests wanting sun or shade, full size fridge with freezer (ICE!), full size oven and 6 burner gas stove in 100% equipped kitchen, 2 new AC units, 3 bright outdoor lights and additional iron (with screen) doors for added security, private airport transfers and individualized tours available, special requests accommodated if possible. **Note: most of these things will seem standard for North American or European guests, and may seem unnecessary to list. We do point out specifics because after personally renting 15+ of the nicest homes and 6 of the best hotels in Granada, it was amazing how many had no real oven or stove, horrendous "mattresses", sheets you could read a newspaper through, no comfortable furniture to relax on, no towels... The list goes on... One even had 2 dogs living in the house that were never mentioned, no actual kitchen (other than a brick oven that would require finding and purchasing firewood) and no furniture in common areas... and that one was more than double the price of Casa Romantica! For this reason, we list these things specifically and individually, and encourage guests to inquire about the same things when considering any home or hotel in Granada, as just assuming the "basics" will be there may not always be the case in Nicaragua. Water pressure, hot water, and consistent power are also not always available in Granada, as Nicaragua is still very much a developing country. We have an additional water pressure pump, hot water from tap, and surge protectors in place for these things, but please do understand there are some instances when even these precautions are not enough (if entire city is out for several days, for example). Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions or special requests, and we look forward to welcoming you to Granada and Casa Romantica!
Property manager (Julio) will meet you at the house with keys and show you around upon arrival. Julio worked as professional tour guide for 10+ years before coming to work as a full time property manager and guest concierge for Casa Romantica, and he is an excellent source of info for all things Granadino (speaks Spanish / English, is available 24/7, and is also available for private airport transfers, tours, activities, local recommendations, translations, or any other needs during your stay). Julio is also great with kids, and lives very near Casa Romantica with his wife and 3 sons (with another son on the way), so he is a dependable guy and is available to guests any hour of the day or night, and can be as involved or as absent as guests wish.

I grew up in the rural South and decided to study abroad my junior year at the University of AR (before that was a “thing” and before the internet and smart phones connected us... in other words, I was throwing myself way out of my comfort zone, knew no one, didn’t speak the language, and was truly terrified). I’m still not sure why I did it, but I’m SO glad I did! That experience changed my life and my perception of the world completely, and I have spent the last 20 years trying to scratch the constant itch to experience new places and learn more about other countries and cultures. Almost 15 years of working with plastic surgeons in Dallas kept me distracted, but after falling in love with Nicaragua on a girls’ trip in 2014, I found myself returning time and time again. I purchased Casa Romantica in March 2016 after more than a year of searching for the perfect place, and I have met so many amazing people through the hosting experience! It was almost 20 years ago that I blindly took off to study in Granada, Spain, so finding my second home in Granada, Nicaragua, seems like a pretty perfect coincidence to me! I hope you will love Casa Romantica, Granada, and the people of Nicaragua as much as I do. It is an amazing and infectious place, and I hope you have a truly fantastic experience!
