Central HFX,great house/neighbhd. 2

Hello! Thanks for your interest in my centrally located Halifax home. It is a century old home in a leafy urban neighbourhood with many traditional cedar shingled houses with front porches. It is located 2 streets away from the shopping/café/restaurant street of Quinpool and 5 to 6 streets away from the hip North End.

Other room : Central HFX,great house/neighbhd. 1

(Please make sure that you have a clear face pic and if you don't have feedback from prior stays, that your profile description is filled out : who you are, what you do, what your are like. etc. This is important information for hosts sharing their homes. Thanks! )

( Please note : I am not able to accept same-day reservations )

This medium size room has a double size bed with a foam top pad if you like plush, without if you like hard. The beds have comforters and/or wool blankets , and there are extra blankets in the closet, just in case.

The room also has a desk and chair.

You will be sharing my three bedroom , century old three bedroom house with myself and , if the other room is booked, with 1 or 2 other guests. There is one washroom , but it has not been an issue for most visitors due to the flexibility and good nature of the guests that I have had so far. Unlike a hotel or an official Bed & Breakfast, the bedrooms do not have locks on them. It is a home after all.

WINTER HEATING INFORMATION : During the cold weather season, the home is heated. The thermostat is set to :

7am to 9am : 21 degrees Celsius (wakey wakey smell the coffee setting)
9am to 5pm : 13 degrees Celsius* (empty house setting)
5pm to 11pm : 21 degrees Celsius (welcome back setting)
11pm to 7am : 17 degrees Celsius (sleeping setting)

*If you are home during the day, you can set the thermostat to 21, but make sure you set it back to 13 if you leave the house.

There are warm comforters and an extra wool blanket in the rooms. If you prefer sleeping in a warm room overnight, there is a space heater in the room that you can use if necessary It must be shut off when you leave the room for the day or check out.

Please do not open windows during the heating season.

Paul was so helpful and hospitable. He was full of great information about things to see and restaurants to go to and even drew everything out on a map for us. First thing when we walked in the door he offered us a cold beer that he brews himself!

Our stay with Paul was the perfect end to a tour of Nova Scotia. The house is interesting and cozy, well located within the city, and Paul was an exceptional host. He greeted us with his own home brewed beer as he oriented to Halifax and some of the best places to check out. His recommendations were terrific and he made sure that we were comfortable reaching out to him if we needed anything while we stayed with him. Would gladly stay with him again.

Paul's suggestions made our stay in Halifax - and then in PEI and cape Breton - awesome. His place is perfect for experiencing the city and was such a comfortable stay, and we were greeted with some incredible home brew! Our best Airbnb experience so far.

It's hard to say which was more excellent, Paul's place or Paul himself! He is a fantastic tour guide. We followed his instructions about Halifax to a tea and had a wonderful visit! Paul's home is organized, stylish, impeccably clean and highly welcoming and comfortable. Because of Paul's attention and detail both to his home and his guests this is truly one of the best Airbnbs <3 Thanks again Paul!

Paul's beautiful house is impeccably clean, and he is extremely knowledgeable about Halifax and provided very helpful information. We were there only very briefly, but it was comfortable and convenient, and Paul is very hospitable. Highly recommended.

Nice guy, clean house, great host. Would stay again... Paul is a great brewer and helpful host

Paul was personable, informative, generous and a superb host. He was very accommodating to host us on short notice, and allowed for a third person to be in the room. The beds were comfortable, beer delicious and he gave nice directions about the city. We didn't have enough time to use his suggestions - so I would say check in before you plan your Halifax days!
