This historical house is perfectly maintained, preserving it's character and decorated using antiques and art pieces. The beach, shops, bares and restaurants are within walking distance - a heaven of peace in the center of this beautiful city.
This is an old renovated house in the historical centre of Lagos.
The house is confortable and spacious, with a mixture of old family pieces and art work.
The house has a ground floor and a 1rst floor, connected with stairs. It also has a patio with table and chairs for al fresco eating. On the ground floor you will find a large living room, and an open kitchen (fully equiped) with an eating area. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms, one ensuite with double bed, another one with a double bed and a third one with 1 double bed and 2 single beds. The house has 3 bathrooms in total. The style is classic vintage with a twist.
The centre of Lagos is lively and exciting, with plenty of small shops, restaurants, bars and cultural life. Our street and our house are nevertheless calm and quiet, a little outside this busy area, yet close to all amenities. Batata Beach and Meia Praia Beach can be reached on foot.
The city has a good transport system. The buses go around town and to the nearby beaches and villages. In the Summer, a boat connects the city to Meia Praia beach. Regular bus lines and trains connect Lagos to the rest of the Algarve including Faro Airport, to Lisbon, to Seville (Spain)...
Our house is one of the oldest and most charming within the city center.
The house is very private despite being in the center of the city. The patio is private to the house, and extra cleaning can be provided on the demand (extra charge).
We don't live close to the house, but we may come if the guests need us.
We love our house, which has been in the same family for over 200 years... We expect that you take good care of it, both with cleaning and maintainance. If you want, we can find you a cleaner or a babysitter. Animals are wellcome - although you should not leave them inside the house when you are absent, to avoid accidents. All accidents that damage the house or big items will have to be paid for. We don't mind smoker guests, but would invite them to use our wonderful patio when they smoke.
Please don't leave your rubish. Put it in bags and use the containers around the city. Lagos has a good recycling system, and we hope that you use it. There are specific containers fro glass, paper, plastic and metal, batteries and used oil. For any doubts about their location just ask Emília.
Between October and March we will charge 5€/day for heating, this will be paid upon arrival.
