Cascadilla Guest House was our family home for 15 years and now we want to share it with you.
Our home boasts a newly renovated kitchen, freshly painted rooms, modern furnishings, off street parking, comfortable front porch, private backyard and an unbeatable location!
Welcome to the Cascadilla Guesthouse built in 1890. We are delighted to offer you year-round access to our lovely family home. This home holds a special place in our hearts. In this house we welcomed our first daughter into the world. It is where she took her first steps and said her first words. It’s a home that has provided us with some of our fondest memories and we’re certain it will do the same for you.
Our house offers three bedrooms and two baths. The master bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom also offers a queen bed and the third has a twin bed. All bedrooms have blackout curtains. The upstairs bath includes a classic deep seated claw-foot bathtub and the downstairs bathroom offers a shower. The house is a smoke and pet free environment.
In addition to the warmth and charm you’ll enjoy inside our home, you will find off street parking, a deck area and a private backyard with a beautiful black walnut tree that provides ample shade on those hot summer days. The front porch of our house is a wonderful place to read that book you've been trying to finish and to sit and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee from gimme on the corner or brewed in our kitchen or some other beverage of your choice.
The convenient location of our Cascadilla Guesthouse is truly one of its greatest assets. Within minutes you can walk to any of the following points of interest: Cascadilla Creek (on the corner), Triangle (Thompson) Park (on the corner), Gimme Coffee Shop (on the corner), Dewitt Park, Greenstar Oasis Food Market, the Dewitt Shopping Mall, the Moosewood Restaurant, the Commons (restaurants and shopping), Cinemapolis Movie Theaters, the State Theater, the Kitchen Theater and so much more.
Furthermore, Cayuga Lake, Treman State Park, Buttermilk Falls State Park, Stewart Park, Cass Park, Cornell Plantations and University, Ithaca College, the Farmers Market, the Sciencenter, the Museum of the Earth, the Hangar Theater, Wegmans, and local wineries found along the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail are all within walking or a short driving distance. The city bus line stops at the corner opposite the coffee shop.
We hope your stay at our home is both relaxing and inspiring. Whether you’re here for a college related function or to explore the beautiful natural surroundings, our home is in the center of it all.
This is our first family home and we hope you will feel the love that we shared and experienced while living here. We do have neighbors who will more than likely not be on vacation at the same time you're visiting Ithaca. Please keep them in mind when you are outside during the day and especially at night. We do not allow pets or smoking.
Cascadilla Guest House was our first home and we have shared many wonderful moments there together as a family. When we aren't teaching the youth of Western NY, we are playing music together, laughing, dancing, singing and playing fake believe with our two beautiful and precocious daughters.
