Split level home with three bedrms, 1400 sq ft) big sunken livingrm, lots of light, 80% remodeled with a few unfinished details, fenced yd. Cafes, eateries in walking distance. Groceries 3-5 min drive. Downtown 12 to 17 minutes. U.Dist. 7-10 min.
The house has been our home since 1999, so it will have a lived in feel however not excessively cluttered. It has been lovingly and thoughtfully remodeled and has a fairly open floor plan. The house is like the Tartis from Dr Who, it looks smallish from the street but is bigger on the inside.
One will see areas which are completely new and remodeled and some rustic or unfinished elements here and there. A hall near the kitchen leads to the right and down a half flight of stairs to the master bedroom. The master bedroom is the largest bedroom but just slightly larger than the largest kids bedrm. The washer/dryer is located here, in a closet. From the foyer entrance area if you go left you are led to the bathroom and two kids bedrooms on either side. This is a full bathroom with a tub and shower. Each bedroom has one twin bed which works for kids or medium sized adults (tall people might not be as comfortable). The smaller bedroom is 10x10 ft or a little more than 3 meters square) the second kids bedroom is 10x12 ft or 3x4 meters, I will add photos of these soon. One bedroom has enough floor space for an extra person to sleep on the floor. We do have possible accommodations to sleep a fifth person, potential guests could ask to find out more about this option. French doors from the sunken living room lead to a backyard deck. The deck is surrounded by bamboo which lines the backyard for a beautiful view from the livingroom through tall windows that bring the outdoors in visually. The photos speak for themselves.
Guests have access to the deck, and fenced yard with play structure which works for ages 4-9. Indoors, computer access is a PC, WI-FI, Flat screen with Net Flicks, a giant collection of kids and adults dvds and a few local channels too.
I will be available remotely by text and can often respond within minutes to any questions. There will most likely be guests in the smaller airbnb space on the second floor of the same house during part of your stay. They have their own separate entrance and completely separate space, there may be minor noise transfer now and then. I would encourage guests renting these spaces to be introduced and familiar with each other so that everyone feels comfortable. Of course I will be in communication frequently as well if anything comes up. I also have a neighbor who is acting as a back-up, keeping an eye everything and has a spare key and knows where the breaker box and shut off for water and gas are located among other things in case for some reason I am not available. So there will always be someone available to take care of any concerns and make sure you feel comfortable and in full command while you are in the space.
A few specifics to note: Seattle water is expensive...a regular water bill is often over $100 per month and is metered so our usage is monitored by the city. Please be sensible about water use. If you have more than three people showering in the same morning, keep the showers brief to insure enough hot water for all.
First and foremost..enjoy your stay! We are sensible and down-to-earth. We are open-minded and welcoming to all. We would appreciate that guests be mindful of next door neighbors behind and to the left of our property, the houses are fairly close by. Sorry no pets. No smoking of tobacco or ANY OTHER SUBSTANCES on the premises or on the deck, thanks. Please mention any people who will be frequently visiting or staying with you in the space before you book, no large groups or parties in the house please but families welcome ... because the airbnb is our home, we want to be aware of who all our guests will be. Visiting on the deck is a great option in good weather, please do observe quiet hours on the premises and on the deck between 10pm and 8am. Explanations on recycling and bed set up are in the welcome booklet for your convenience. We understand you may have come to Seattle to have a good time. By all means do! Please respect quiet hours since neighbors and your hosts are living and sleeping near by. Welcome to Seattle, we look forward to hosting you!
