I live in Bergen, Norway, with my wife Maja. I am a historian of the Middle East, working at the University of Bergen. So does my girlfriend, who is a researcher in public international law. We travel extensively in our work, but like hosting people when we are in Bergen. We enjoy being outdoors, cooking (Georgian Khinkali is our current favourite!), wining and dining (we can tell you where to go in Bergen), and when we travel, we enjoy visiting cultural sites and the local hangouts. We also have a soft spot for abandoned villages, factories and other old derelict and overgrown buildings.
