This is classic Maine forest with the added bonus of a 110 acre, trail-filled Nature preserve right next door. A short stroll through the woods brings you to the beach front (200 yards). The shore is an exquisite mix of sand, large boulders for climbing and rocky areas. The interior of this privately situated guests cottage is open and spacious with hard wood floors and rough hewn ceilings giving the entire space an elegant, earthy feel. Oriental rugs are on the wood floors, handsome leather sleep sofa and colorful hanging buoys, and bar stools to pull up to the granite kitchen counter. Sliding glass doors to step right out to the deck to enjoy views and fresh, sea air. The bedroom upstairs is situated to accommodate four with a king size bed and two twins; a screen can be used for privacy. This is a dear little cabin nestled among lichens, boulders and trees. This one-bedroom cottage has views of Penobscot Bay from the deck and is an easy walk to Amanda Beach for swimming and kayaking. Important. Please be aware that the well water for Wolfhound Cottage has intermittent salt water intrusion. While there are filters, a salty residue can sometimes be present in the water. As such, the owners provide ample bottled water for drinking and cooking. The water is safe and satisfactory for showering, dishwashing, etc.
