If you can't find the dates that you're looking for, please take a look at our other listing - The Joshua Tree House:
Welcome to the Joshua Tree Casita! This casita is an original homesteader nestled up next to boulders, which was built in 1958 and expanded on in later years. What makes the casita special are the over 900 acres of protected land around it that serve as a wildlife corridor to Joshua Tree National Park. You'll see many kinds of birds, antelope squirrels, lizards, cottontail rabbits, jack rabbits and maybe even a desert tortoise or a coyote!
The Casita is about a 12 minute drive into town, and 15 minutes to the nearest grocery store. If would you would prefer being walking distance to town, we would recommend our other property: The Joshua Tree House (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/32694)
*Mattresses and Bedding by Casper*
There are two bedrooms and one bathroom in the casita, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, or small families.
We hope you love staying at the casita as much as we do!
While you're staying here, the casita will be your private oasis. Feel free to explore the yard and the gardens. You can even hike out straight from the property onto government owned land. Also make sure to enjoy the Jacuzzi and the incredible views!
To get to the casita, you'll be driving on dirt roads for about 5 minutes. While four wheel drive is not required, we would suggest it!
The casita is down a private driveway with three houses. The casita is the pink one closest to the boulders. We also own the white hacienda next to the casita, and the other house are our neighbors. Please be respectful of their privacy and quiet desert retreat.
It is also possible that our vintage car, an International Harvester Scout may be parked at the Hacienda next door during your stay. While it's ok to take a photo with the car, please respect our personal property and space and PLEASE do not climb on or get inside of our car. (We're sorry this needs to be said, but sadly this did happen once).
Transient Occupancy Tax - A 7% TOT tax required by San Bernardino County is included in the nightly rate. For our area, Airbnb does not yet break this down as an extra line item, but rather is included in the base price.
Finally, the house is on a septic system, so PLEASE do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Thank you!
- No photoshoots without prior approval (there is an additional location fee for shoots for profit of any kind)
- No fires allowed
- No fireworks or sparklers.
Check-in is at 4pm. (No early check-ins please unless otherwise approved)
Sorry no pets, indoor smoking, photoshoots without prior approval, large parties/events, shooting guns, outdoor fires, fireworks, sparklers, or extra guests. Please also respect our neighbors and refrain from incredibly loud noises (noise travels in the desert). If you decide to climb up on the boulders next to the Casita, please respect the privacy of the neighboring properties and refrain from yelling, shining lights, etc.
You may alter your dates once up to 30 days prior to your stay. With less than 30 days advance notice, our cancellation policy will apply. Unfortunately, we make no exceptions to this rule.
If you're interested in doing a photoshoot at the Casita, please contact us for pricing.
We have a security camera overlooking the driveway on the corner of the fence between the Casita and Hacienda. Joshua Tree is very safe, but we have this for added safety.
Please also treat the Joshua Trees with respect. They are very old and fragile (in fact they are actually very large plants - not trees at all!)
We have the casita professionally cleaned, but do please make sure your dishes are cleaned and that everything is in the general place that you found it on arrival. This helps keep our cleaning fee down. If dishes are left undone, an additional cleaning fee will be taken out of your security deposit.
When checking out, please make sure all doors are shut and locked.
Besides that, enjoy the casita! We've put a lot of time and energy into making this a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Please be respectful of all of the furniture and accessories that we've lovingly collected. Everything in the casita is very special to us.
Thanks so much and enjoy your stay!!
While we will not be at the casita during your stay, feel free to contact us with any questions! We also have a lot of local recommendations to share. We send our guests an illustrated pdf before their stay with some of our favorite local spots!
For check-in, we'll give you a code to the lock on the front door and you can arrive anytime after 4pm and check yourself in. Check-out is at 12pm.
It all began with a month long cross county road trip. We got in a routine of driving a few hours each morning, and spending the rest of the day hiking a National Park along the route.
It was our first time to Joshua Tree, and it felt different than all the rest. Something about this place pulled us in and stayed in our thoughts. Exactly one year later, we found ourselves looking to buy a home in Joshua Tree. As soon as we stepped foot onto the property of the Joshua Tree House we knew it was special, and the perfect place to share with others who needed to reset, reflect, and create.
After sharing our home and and hearing stories of friend weekends, engagements, and magical memories being made at the house, we couldn't help but design another space to share. We found and fell in love with the Joshua Tree Casita, and are so happy we get to share the intensely starry sky with you.
