Sunny, spacious room in fabulous historic area! Near South St, Old City, Center City, Pennsylvania Hospital, Italian Market, TLA, Magic Gardens, Rittenhouse Square and many historic sites. Close to public transit and a wide variety of restaurants.
This 3-story historic townhouse was built in 1860. This space is located on the third floor of a historic Philadelphia home. It is furnished with a queen-size bed that sleeps 2. The room is equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, dresser, 2 nightstands and a desk. There is a shared bathroom on the second floor. Other common areas include a fully-stocked kitchen, living room with basic cable TV, and a backyard. There is central heat in the colder months and a window AC unit in the summer months. (If you are a group of 3 an airbed will automatically be set up for the 3rd person. If you are a group of 2 and want separate sleeping accomodations an airbed can be set up on request for an additional $10. Please let us know in advance of your stay.)
Guests can access their own private bedroom and all of the shared areas including the living room, kitchen, bathroom, and back yard.
Although this is not my primary residence I live nearby and am in close communication with my guests.
The room is on the 3rd floor of a historic trinity. The spiral staircase is narrow and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The stairs may also pose a challenge for those with extra large or heavy suitcases.
I would like my guests to feel like they are in their own home and take care of it as such. Because it is a shared space I would ask that they keep all shared areas tidy for the common enjoyment of all guests. Only guests with confirmed reservations are permitted on the premises (prior approval is required for any exceptions) Smoking is not permitted in the house but is permitted in the back yard (please properly dispose of cigarette butts). Please keep music and/or noise at a level that is considerate of all guests. (No loud parties please) If you need anything or have any questions please feel free to let me know.
I'm a yoga, dance, and fitness instructor and I've lived in the Philadelphia Area for over 30 years. I love living in Philadelphia! The city is large enough to have all of the many cultural events, restaurants, and nightlife that I enjoy while having a local, neighborhood vibe. Everything is very accessible by foot or by public transit so a car is optional here. I live in the Art Museum Area and I love to walk or bike in Fairmount Park, enjoy the many restaurants within 5 blocks (This city has really great food!), traveling, meeting all kinds of people, listening to live jazz, etc. I enjoy hearing about my guests experiences, professions and travels. If you happen to love yoga or belly dance classes you might find time to take a class at my yoga/dance studio in Fairmount. I think that you'll love your stay in Philadelphia- looking forward to meeting you!
