A two bedroomed self-catering apartment in the centre of Catalan Prats-de-Mollo suitable for up to six adults or four adults and two children. This second floor apartment offers a private garden for relaxing at first floor level with BBQ facilities.
The owners of "Maison Baxter" live in one of the twelve apartments which they service continuously around the year to maintain the best standards for all their many guests which are a mix of tourists and 'curists' - guests that stay specifically for the thermal health spa at La Preste, six kilometers further uo the valley.
All guests have access to the private terraced garden to the rear of the house where it is always calm. This area is forbidden to animals and children cannot use this area as a play-ground. The village is very safe for children to play and have lots of fun in designated areas for sport, games and just play.
There is a discreet area to the rear and side of the garden to dry clothing in the fresh air, however each apartment is equipped with a drying rack.
All guests are met upon arrival to introduce them to the house and their private apartment as well as to explain the whereabouts of the 'Office de Tourisme', shops, supermarkets etc. etc.. Many guests holiday here to enjoy the magnificence of the mountain walks as well as its remarkable wildlife throughout the forests and high peaks; we are happy to give as much support and advice as we are able. L'Office de Tourisme have available many adventurous walks of various levels of challenge for which they are available to map out to visitors.
Other than restaurants, guests need to remember that everything closes between 12.30hrs and 15.30hrs, and generally the same after 19.00hrs. The Post Office has its own times which are variable!
"Maison Baxter" prefers to avoid rules, trusting that all its guests respect one another's space and comforts, however, there is a strict NO SMOKING indoor policy and animals are not allowed in the private garden for the reason of good 'Health and Cleanliness'. Children are asked not to use the private garden as a play ground; there are many areas for children in and around the village.
I am a young 72 year old that loves life and family. I am a ceramist that is always hoping to create new ideas through enjoying landscape and nature.
My wife and I are lucky enough to have found Prats-de-Mollo and its very friendly community that are passionate to be Catalan. The climate here in the Pyrenees is a pleasure after the UK and its permanent dampness. Having travelled extensively around France we have never regretted settling here in the eastern Pyrenees just up the Vallespir from the Mediterranean sea and very close to Spain. We are sure you will share our enthusiam for this medieval town.
