Double room in country cottage

Our pretty spare room is part of our home - we enjoy having bed and breakfast guests to stay with us. There is a standard (4'6") double bed and our guests share either of the two house bathrooms with us. One bathroom has a HUGE bath tub to luxuriate in, and other has a wonderful spacious shower. We offer you breakfast at our family table in our large kitchen.

We welcome visitors to our lovely cottage home just South of Shrewsbury. You share our facilities as any family guest - i.e. shared bathrooms (there are two - one with a huge tub almost next to your bedroom, and one downstairs with a good large shower). You share the bathrooms only with two clean retirees! There are no animals in the house, but this is the countryside, so there are horses and cows nearby - sometimes this means there are a few flies around too! We do have a second guest room, and a cot is available, so we may be able to welcome additional children - please contact to discuss.

Your room is private of course. It is not lockable - Shropshire is a very safe place and you are the only guests! You share access to the other parts of the house, our sitting rooms and the kitchen. There is no TV in your room, but wi-fi is available. You are welcome to watch the TV in our snug - just let us know if you want to, we only have terrestrial TV - no satellite - sorry! We will give you breakfast in the kitchen, but generally we expect our guest to eat other meals out. If you would like to make use of the kitchen to prepare food, please discuss this with us in advance.

We love to meet new people and will enjoy chatting over a cuppa when you arrive and breakfast in the morning. We can advise you about places to visit and lovely local walks.

The price includes a standard breakfast (cereal, toast etc) - we charge £5 per head extra for the Full English. Please note that there is no TV in the room. Wi Fi is available though the signal is not totally reliable. You are welcome to watch the TV in our snug.

No smokers please - we will consider well behaved dogs, but they must be able to sleep in the large utility room next to the kitchen.

需爬楼梯 - Small flight of cottage stairs with hand rail - two steps to bedroom.
需公用某些区域 - All parts of the house including bathrooms.

Harriet and Paul were very friendly and made us feel at home. It was a nice touch having breakfast with them rather than the usual impersonal breakfast in a B&B. Would definitely recommend it.

We arrived as customers but we're treated like friends. Lovely stay in for us a great location. Easy into Shrewsbury and on to our much loved Strettons. Really hope we will be back soon.

Harriet has a beautiful house and garden and is very attentive and accommodating. We had a delightful stay and look forward to a return visit soon.

My wife Ella and I were greeted by Harriet and Paul into their lovely and secluded Shropshire home as if we were friends. As Airbnb Virgins we were unsure of what to expect. Our next experience will have to go a long way to beating this one. Booking online was simple and relatively painless and fast. Harriet responded quickly to my request and was clear on advising prior to accepting that her and Paul would not be at their home until after 5pm. Which to be honest fitted in perfectly with us, as we were visiting Shrewsbury to watch league 1 football. Once we advised Harriet that this would not be a problem and despite the stigma of the football tag and with us having had no previous (Airbnb feedback that is) our request was immediately excepted and payment made. Harriet then advised us via email of local eateries and her recommendations which we were able to research prior to our stay. There is a local pub literally next door and with a couple of other eateries within 3-4mins drive away which makes this house an excellent retreat and away from the noisy town streets. We decided to chose the unusual and unique "Old Hall Persian Restaurant" in the next village of Dorrington. Dr. Lal was wonderful host... what a great find this was an experience of its very own. It's not anything like an Indian or Bangladeshi Restaurant.(Review on Trip Advisor to follow). Right back to Harriet and Paul, we arrived about 6pm after a short drive from Shrewsbury with good directions to the House it was easy to find about 100m after the pub on the right hand side heading out of the village of Ryton, down a 25m drive to the house which had old English Country Estate Cottage look about it with extensive gardens (where much of their self sufficient produce it grown) to the rear. Gravel Parking in front of the house is clear especially for guests. We were greeted at the door by the smiling and well spoken Harriet making us feel immediately welcome. We were taken straight to our room and shown the bathroom etc and given a quick overview of the do's and don'ts, before returning to the kitchen diner for tea and coffee at the large wooden table in the kitchen and what turned out to be a lengthy chat where Paul pottered around in the background preparing dinner for them both. It was great to see how they bounced off one another, Paul seemed the quiet and reserved type, while Harriet lively and both worldly wise, like two different styles of wine, Paul a smooth dark and mysterious red while Harriet and exciting sparkling white....brilliant. We retired to our well equipped and bright and comfortable room after chatting for over an hour to prepare for our evening trip to the restaurant. We popped our heads in the kitchen to say we wouldn't be too late which wasn't a problem if...

Harriet and her husband were very welcoming - we only stayed one night, but it was like staying with old friends. Easy to make conversation, and all we needed was provided. The room was ideal. And the best cooked breakfast (at a very reasonable £5) of any airbnb yet! We would definitely say again.

Various things to recommend about this place. There was NO traffic noise, making for an overall feeling of tranquility. We also enjoyed the very nice breakfast spread. Very clean bathrooms, and two toilets in the home was good as well. The nearby pub is convenient for first night meal, did very good food our night. Located conveniently for visiting Ironbridge - a really good day trip.

Lovely, kind and genuine hosts! My fianceé and I had an amazing stay, we enjoyed every minute. The location is stunning, a shame we didnt have more time to explore! Would recommend staying here any day. Harriet and Paul made us feel very welcome and were unbelievabley accomodating. Thank you both for an amazing stay! :) Catherine and Elizabeth.
