Enjoy the privacy of a quiet room with private deck and own bathroom in the charming Floating Homes community. A comfortable bed and spacious room offer a unique get-away on the water just a 20 minute ferry ride from San Francisco.
Views of the Marin Headlands, other floating homes and the happenings of the pier, cozy-up in your very private room on the water! You'll have a small, covered, private deck right off your room! There is a full, recently remodled, bathroom for the bedroom, but it is not attached to the bedroom.
Aside from your own room, enjoy the living room and dining table with views of the water. The kitchen is absolutely OFF LIMITS. You can store some things in the fridge if you need to, but please no cooking! There are plenty of restaurants nearby. There is coffee and tea available for you in your room. Please be courteous of your things - it is a small house and I prefer that you keep everything (except refridgerated items) in the room provided. If you need something from the kitchen, please ask.
I will be in and out at various times, but always available via text message for questions! My room is the second story of the house, but I frequently use the kitchen and living room area downstairs.
The tides vary by over 6 feet each day - at low tide, the house is not floating and at high tide with wind, it can move a little. Other than that, it does not feel like a boat, it feels like a home. Plumbing, electricity and gas are the same as any other house, but the plumbing tank is sensitive. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING into the toilet except for poopoo, pee pee and toilet paper. The door from the bedroom in the pictures is to access the private deck, but the only access to the pier is through the main part of the house. The floating deck out front is inaccessible at low tide (the ramp is dangerously steep). There is a Mike's Bikes in the parking lot with bike rentals available (both mountain, road and cruiser). There is also a great breakfast and lunch diner, convenience store and delicious sandwich deli a stone's throw from the front door. Downtown Sausalito (ferry service) is a 40 minute walk.
Don't bother making the bed, but other than that, please leave the place as you found it! If you use the coffee area, just leave your cups/coffee pot in the right hand side of the sink. Text or email me with questions instead of asking neighbors. This is a very quiet community, so please be respectful of the surroundings. ABSOLUTELY NO USE OF KITCHEN PLEASE! The front deck is accessible during high tide only. If the ramp to access it looks steep, do NOT go down there.
If I'm not home, I'll be on a trail run, bike ride, hitting the slopes, exploring my backyard, or working. I absolutely love living on the water with close proximity to trails and roads to run and ride on. I own a small tour company and am happy to help with fun activities from the house or a close drive nearby!
