Absolutely beautiful, well appointed antique farmhouse made for a perfect week in coastal Maine. Everything from the gorgeous linens and super comfortable beds to being able to sip coffee on a back porch with hummingbirds flying around and a view of peach and apple trees around the yard. It's close to ocean and fresh water beaches. Loved it!
We really enjoyed our stay at Anne's beautiful farm home. Anne is a very generous host who stocked the refrigerator with the basics which saved us from more food shopping. Having all of the beds made and towels provided was a big bonus for me (the mom who makes all the beds and packs and washes all of the towels.) Her kitchen is so big and quite fun to cook in. I enjoyed coffee on the back deck each morning while watching the humming birds sip from their bird house. Her garden is big and was in full bloom. Having fresh flowers in the house and being able to cook with fresh herbs was a real treat. The house was about 25-30 minutes to Bar Harbor and Acadia Park which is where we spent most of our days hiking, biking, boating, swimming, etc. We explored Lamoine State Park and beach, and found the swimming lake a couple miles away from Anne's home. We enjoyed lobster at the Trenton Lobster Pound about 20 minutes away, ice cream at the Dairy Bar and having the small market right down the road was a real convenience. We would absolutely stay here again!
Lovely, unique home. Great location for visiting Acadia National Park: close to the park but away from the tourist traffic. Anne was a perfect host. She met us upon arrival, showed us around, provisioned us for the next morning's breakfast, then left us to ourselves for the length of our stay.
