Our barn is well situated between London and Cornwall, and is on the cycle route from Land's End to John o' Groats. We offer peaceful, simple accommodation, possibly rather rough and ready, but with high quality sheets, freshly ground coffee and a friendly wood burner.
Our barn offers basic, spacious and simple accommodation on the ground floor. The building is heated with a wood-burning stove; there are always plenty of logs, and it will be ready to light when the weather is cold. Of course we will help to work it if you are unfamiliar with stoves!
There is small kitchen in which a simple meal can be prepared. The kitchen can be rather cold, and this is something we will sort out once the b and b is going! We provide milk, fresh coffee and tea making equipment, organic and fair trade where possible.
We are a chaotic family with several children who come and go all of the time, but we will be very friendly and helpful. Simon is a keen cyclist and we have a lot of maps and pumps! We will try to provide you with anything you need, these are early days for us, and we are happy to learn; we are definitely not Michelin 4 star yet!
Sorry no dogs, children or loud music.
We have made a list of the local pubs for evening meals. You are welcome to prepare meals in the Barn kitchen, but please bear in mind that is very simply equiped.
We have a regular delivery of organic vegetables and groceries from Riverford on a Friday. They are happy to make a one-off delivery for you via their web-site or main office. I can give you details if you are interested.
This is our home, and we enjoy the peace here; we welcome people who appreciate this! Please keep any music or TV quiet enough so that it cannot be heard outside the barn.
We provide a recycling box and a compost container; please separate your rubbish.
The barn is home to a lot of our books. You are welcome to read them while you are staying, but please put them back on the shelves before you go!
I am originally from London, but have lived in Devon with my family for more than 20 years. We enjoy living fairly remotely, and are mostly at home growing and making things and enjoying nature, and the peace and quiet here. When we are not at home, we seem to head to Greece. We are keen walkers and cyclists and have lots of maps and books.
We always enjoy meeting our guests!
