Nestled beside a babbling brook (originating from springs on the property) that meanders and feeds into the lake. Watch horses graze from the porch, beautiful sunrises/sunsets, spring/summer firefly shows, rolling hillsides frequently spotted with cattle, beautiful fall foliage, nice trails with rock outcroppings, a small waterfall, and a fallen original homestead. Come relax and enjoy nature!!

Get away from it all! The Blue Ridge Parkway & I-77 are 8 miles , hwy 221 is 2 miles. Pet friendly. Soak in the huge soaking tub,listen to the creek thru the window. This stocked creek is noisy and fun to wade, fish and float in. The yurt is on a gated property. The driveway is biker friendly, and in the blue ridge mountains. The area has lots of backroads with accessible places to go on atvs. We do provide a side by side for an additional fee. The yurt is 2 mls from Kanawha Valley Arena.

Historic One Room Schoolhouse

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful historic one room schoolhouse built in 1903 situated on 13 acres. It was originally built as a Sunday School room but was later used as the community schoolhouse. Two original blackboards are still in the main room, along with numerous children's carvings on the original walls.The schoolhouse has been updated with a kitchen, bedroom, 1 1/2 bathrooms and a large wrap around deck. The headwaters of the Dan River can be seen and heard from the deck.
