Warm & welcoming Pheasant Cabin

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful bit of paradise overlooking geothermal Lake Ohakuri, This semi-rustic cabin, loved by everyone that stays, has a bedroom with four solid bunks, another room with Kitchen, table and queen bed. There is a covered deck, with another sink, Weber BBQ, tables and chairs, and gas flatplate. The cabin overlooks the river and has a shared bathroom with three toilet stalls a short walk away, one with a good shower. Lake access and boat dock is 2 minutes away.

Tinopai Station Woolshed

Enjoy converted Woolshed accommodation with huge uninterrupted views and walking track over farmland and native bush, down to a private coastal beach on the Kaipara Harbour. A great spot to observe a real working 1150 acre Sheep and Beef farm. Bring your hiking shoes and a fishing rod and enjoy the self guided marked 6km return walking track. Tinopai boat ramp 5 km away. NB 4wd vehicles can be driven to a halfway point on Whitestone track only, then the rest of the track is to be done on foot.

This funky little home is situated next to a rustic decommissioned cowshed and there are views for miles. It is on a working farm so farm machinery may be heard at times along with animal sounds. Beach at the end of the road. 5 mins from Opunake, 40 mins drive to New Plymouth and 30 minute drive to Hawera which are the closest main centres.

Fig Tree Cottage is located at the very end of the South Head Peninsular with expansive harbour/rural views and private access to the Waionui Lagoon. Bring your racquets as we have an asphalt tennis court, walking shoes for a wide range of walking tracks and binoculars to view the variety of birds nesting and feeding on Papakanui Spit. Or just kick back, relax and soak up the tranquility of farm life.

The quarters have been modernized, with insulation throughout and a new wood burning stove, yet they retain many original features. A cosy place to enjoy a cuppa by the fire and escape from the world. Take a walk on the farm, explore our private access to the Mangaone River where trout and eel can be found or get up at sunrise to look for a wild deer.
