The Bird Nest

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil log cabin hand built by my grandfather and father from cypress trees pulled straight out of the Louisiana swamps. Escape the city & enjoy the serenity of the country life. Located 15 minutes from Monticello and 25 minutes from Brookhaven. Dollar General located 3 miles away & a country store with fuel 1.5 miles away. This fully furnished 2/1 currently has 1 full size & 1 queen size bed and 5’ shower(not a full tub). Smoking is allowed OUTSIDE ONLY!

This country style pine wood log cabin sits on 1.80 acres with an adjoining 1.26 acre lot containing a shop with electric service that is perfect for a motorhome/RV- At an additional cost you can also rent this spot for your other guests which would allow up to 4 more people from the max number of house guest- please inquire. With vaulted ceilings you have views of the beautiful scenery from all around. A spacious floor plan and large balcony for entertaining. And Walking distance to the river!

Our cabin is the perfect getaway to enjoy nature, coffee on the front porch or a cocktail on the upstairs deck, a ride in the woods or a swim in the freshwater creeks. It is a great place to enjoy a romantic weekend, or a vacation with the kids and your pets for outdoor adventures which include hiking or biking the many trails and ravines, or capturing images of birds and other wildlife with your camera. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen for gourmet cooking and dining on the front porch.

Pets are welcome too! We have 3 cabins on site so if this one is unavailable, check out one of our other two.

We're located smack dabb in the middle of the rolling hills of SW Mississippi. Imagine leaving the beaten path far enough to get away from it all and yet close enough to be able to come back quickly if need be. Here you can leave the cyber world, nagging phones and main stream media's daily dose of toxins behind. If secluded, peaceful and restful is your destination then come grab a chair on the back porch, pour a beverage and indulge yourself with enjoying the simple laid back life.

Thunder Ridge —Entire House pet-friendly near NOLA

Thunder Ridge at the Forest Retreat is an adults-only pet-friendly getaway. Children may come only during specific holidays. Your house will be unlocked. Check-in is a 3 p.m. Here you are surrounded by the Homochitto National Forest. Take a picnic to the sand-bars along the pristine spring-fed creek. Hike or mountain bike on the remote forest roads.
