Description of the house: The house is standing by itself on a small rise overlooking a bay and a beautiful garden. Inside, you will find a bedroom with a double bed (upon request with a separate children's bed out of wood), a living room with two more beds, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with bathtub and washing machine. The house has two entrances, one to the kitchen and another one to the living room. Outside, there is a large, partly covered balcony looking to the seaside and another dining area on the lee side of the house. There are also several small, cozy retreats scattered in the garden. During the summer months she lives in an adjacent room with own bathroom and kitchen. In order to get to her room, she has to pass the garden. Besides that she has to use the washing machine in the house once a week and the water the garden. Stella is Greek and also speaks German and English. She is ready to answer your questions at any time and if you are interested she can teach you some Greek dances that are danced in the village. Lipsi (Λειψοί) is a small island far away from mass tourism, near the islands of Kos and Patmos. It is picturesque, clean, quiet and original. The beaches are small and friendly, the sea is clean and clear - without dangers, big waves and currents. There are both flat sandy beaches for families with children as well as steep cliffs and rocky beaches for diving and fishing. In contrast to the heat of Athens and other islands on Lipsi there is mostly a pleasant refreshing wind, so air conditioning at night is not necessary. On Lipsi you can find a lot of friendly and interesting people: Islanders, dropouts and long-term visitors. In the nice restaurants and bars at the harbor, on the beaches and in the village you will be surprised by delicious local food and Greek music. Our family has spended a time of the summer in the holiday house for many years and we still love to come back every year. The harbour is only 10 minutes and the town center 15 minutes walking distance away. The nearest beach is Katsadia and can be reached in about 20 minutes by food or 3 minutes by minibus or car. Transport: Since Lipsi has no airport, you fly best to Kos, Rhodes or Samos and continue your journey from there by boat. With the catamaran you can reach the island in 2 hours from Kos and in 4.5 hours from Rhodes. From Samos there are also connections. We can provide you further helpful information for arrival on request. In order to move forward within the island there is a minibus about four times a day which goes to all major beaches and the harbour. You can stop it and get on it right in front of the house. Alternative means of transportation are taxi or rental mopeds and recently also bicycles (available on the island; however rare in August).
