The Historic Givens Cottage

Built in 1897 and listed in the Lafayette Historic Registry, the Givens Cottage has been meticulously brought back to life. Nestled away on .5 acre of beautifully landscaped oasis, this home is located in the unique Sterling Grove Historic District and is steps away from Mouton Plantation, Givens Townhouse, and John Nickerson House. Enjoy the huge front porch overlooking 100+ year old oak trees, full covered patio complete with outdoor kitchen, and fire pit tucked away under the stars.

This special place is close to everything, making it easy to plan your visit. Our cottage is around the corner from UL campus and a short walk from downtown, girard park, the Cajundome, Blackham Coliseum and the UL Intramural Fields. The outside patio, bathroom, back and side yard amenities mean you don’t have to go far for entertaining! Wake up and watch the sun come up in one of the rocking chairs on the front porch. We hope you enjoy our cottage as much as we did when we lived here!
