You love to eat it, now make it yourself! We'll meet at our kitchen and learn the necessary ingredients and equipment you need to make sushi, where to buy them and then roll, roll, roll! We focus on norimaki: uramaki, temaki, gunkan maki using vegetables, tuna, salmon, and fish roe. This is a hands on interactive cooking class. Local beer and wine is served with every class. You and your friends will arrive, and we ply you with drinks. After 15 minutes or so, we gather people around to discuss the menu. We’ll talk through the recipes in some detail and work the various sushi techniques. All of this takes place in the dining area on our beautiful butcher block work table.

I have been hosting hands-on cooking classes since 2000 and own a restaurant in the Greenwich Village, Manhattan for over 22, moved by my passion about food and my former days in Peter Kump's New York Cooking School (now The Institute of Culinary Education) with experience working at The Tea Box at Takashimaya in NYC, Vong in London, the BBC'S Vegetarian Good Food Magazine, Martha Stewart Living television and as a private Chef running my own catering company, I'll show you tips and tricks about cooking and food shopping that you can apply to your everyday life. I was a contestant on Food Network's Chopped! And two times judge on Beat Bobby Flay! I'm also a certified Sommelier.
