Let us take you on a journey through time of the beautiful area of Dublin 7 (where your guide, Shane, has lived for the past 10 years).
We’ll begin our tour in front of the marvellous Collin's Barracks, now home to the Museum of Decorative Arts and History. We'll meet at the stops of the stairs from the Museum Luas Stop.
As you explore the rich history of the area, local folklore and hidden gems, Shane will share with you his experiences of homelessness and his hopes for the future.
We’ll wrap up our tour approximately 60 minutes opposite St Mary's Angles on Chruch Street, close by to the Luas and Smithfield Square for you to continue your day.

Secret Street Tours is a nonprofit social enterprise that trains those affected by homelessness to become walking tour guides of their neighbourhoods, empowering them with skills and a platform to tell their story. Our tours give a voice to a community that is often talked about rather than listened whilst offering the public an accessible channel to engage with this important social issue.

We’ll begin our tour in front of the marvellous Collin's Barracks, now home to the Museum of Decorative Arts and History.
From there you'll see a great view of the Guinness Brewery and the Croppy Acre. We'll then stroll down the historic Benburb Street, passing some wonderful Street Art on the way into Smithfield Square. After, we'll head towards a homeless food hall and wrap up our tour on Chruch Street.

- We are so glad we had this experience. Shane was a fantastic tour guide with thorough knowledge and insight into Dublin’s issue of homelessness, telling personal stories and historical anecdotes with equal care. In between stops Shane was so personable, chatting with each guest individually (7 of us total). At the end of the tour he even made sure we all knew where we were going and how to get there, explaining the layout of the surrounding area and giving us his personal recommendations. Overall, we highly recommend this tour, especially considering it supports such a great cause.
- This is a really unique walking tour around Dublin. Shane shared expert knowledge and personal insight. His own journey is incredible and we felt lucky to have him as our guide. He is also v friendly, approachable and professional. Well worth bucking the usual tours and booking this one, you won't regret it!!
- If you walk around Dublin, homelessness, addiction, and alcoholism is everywhere. If you have a genuine interest in Ireland, and want to get a sense of the place outside the tourist stops, you'll benefit from this tour. I think if Anthony Bourdain were still alive, and needed a tour guide, outside of the eateries, he might take this tour.
