See Asheville through rainbow colored glasses on this two hour walking tour of downtown. We will sip, sample, and stroll our way through downtown Asheville while learning about the history of LGBTQ+ businesses and leaders that helped to make this place one of the most gay friendly towns in the South. This tour is a great way to get an insider's view of Asheville and learn a bit along the way. I will also give you my personal must see list in Asheville and help you to avoid some notorious tourist traps. All are welcome on this tour ; LGBTQ+ folks and allies alike!

I am a tour guide, artist and college professor passionate about history, craft, food, art and queer community. My partner and I moved to Asheville five years ago, in part because of the welcoming LGBTQ+ community here. One of the things I love most about traveling is learning about the unique histories of the places I visit.
We will start by sampling some wine and cheese at one of my favorite (gay owned) wine bars downtown, then wander our way through the lively streets, learning about the LGBTQ+ friendly businesses along the way. We will enjoy some local chocolate and honey before making our way to the final destination-the oldest gay bar in North Carolina to enjoy a cocktail created just for us!
This walking tour is rain or shine so be sure to bring an umbrella if it is raining! We will be walking from location to location, about a 2 mile loop in total so please wear comfy shoes.
