On this tour, you'll join me as we explore the city and food culture through the medium of donuts. You'll learn history of Philadelphia, each donut location, how they fit into the larger food scene, as well as try some amazing donuts. We start from Federal Donuts on South and 6th Street where we'll try some hot and fresh donuts along with their seasonal flavors. We'll then move on to Dotties Donuts where we try the vegan donuts you'll have no idea are even vegan. Next we'll stop by Sweet Charlies for a sweet surprise you won't believe. And lastly, we end at Reading Terminal Market to try Beilers - some of the best classic donuts around. Throughout the tour, we'll sprinkle in history, humor and fun facts regarding Philadelphia. Please come hungry. On Sunday's we take a slightly different route, but pretty close to the one listed above.
I've always had a passion for donuts, but only recently did I discover how much other people do too. Whether it's making, eating, or talking about donuts - it's something I'm truly passionate about. That's why I created the Underground Donut Tour. The Underground Donut Tour is Philadelphia's only tour focused solely on donuts.
The tour takes us through areas of Old Philadelphia, near the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall and through City Center. The entire route is about 2 miles long and you can walk the entire route in about 30 minutes. Make sure to bring some good walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing.
