The class that I will teach for this experience will be a painting class investigating the abstract style painting using palette a knife. Beginning or novice painters are welcome to try this experience as this style of painting is intended for all who wish to learn an appreciation on how to paint in a nontraditional way. The course is broken up into 4 parts and will last for 1 hour and 30 min. Part 1: (15 min) This will be a short, but formal self-introduction, an introduction of abstract art /non-representational art as well as the materials that will use for this painting experience. Part 2: (15 min) This part is intended for me to conduct a short step-by-step demonstration of how to appropriately start your painting. For the sake of time, we will use acrylic paints or water-based paints which dry fairly quickly. Part 3: (45 min) This part is production time. In this section, you will have the opportunity to create your own Abstract painting with the palette knife. 10 mins for setting up the canvas & sketching your composition on the canvas. 35 minutes of painting on your own while I walk around providing feedback. Part 4: (15 min) In this, we will wrap up and clean up.
