I think there is no better way to explore a city then by foot and running makes you cover more than just walking. Not only is it a good way of seeing a lot of the sights as it’s also environmentally friendly and good for your health. On our run we will cover most parts of the city centre and it will give you a great insight in how the city is laid out and how the different neighbourhoods are connected. This is perfect if you want to continue exploring the city on your own afterwards. During the run we will cover a lot of various topics such as history, art, restaurants, bars etc. Because we’re a small group (maximum 8 people) then it’s easy to ask questions and the guide will do their best to help where possible with recommendations and tips to ensure you’re having a great time while visiting Madrid. Madrid is a busy city, and this will be reflected in the speed we run at and we will keep the same speed as the slowest runner in the group. I offer various start times: 7:30 a.m. – 10k run tour suitable for all runners with the aim of finishing the run within 1.5-2h 9:30 a.m. – 6k run tour suitable for all runners with the aim of finishing the run within 1.5-2h
I took up running very late but immediately got hooked and it wasn’t long until I did my first 10k race and have since continued with half and full marathons. My love for traveling and exploring new cultures took me to Madrid and I felt in love with this beautiful city from day one. I left my busy job as a senior exec within the online industry and sold my house in London and permanently moved to Madrid. I love travelling, food, wine, craft beers, fly fishing, family life and exercising. Have got lost while out running in Istanbul, New York and Shanghai.
I can take photos during the run either with your phone or my phone and send you the pictures afterwards if you want.
We will cover all the main sights such as, Puerta del Sol, Royal Palace, La Latina, Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza Mayor, Prado museum, Retiro, Plaza de Cibeles and Gran Via. I love going to bars and restaurants and I will point out some of my favourite during the run to ensure you will have a great time while visiting Madrid.
