We'll do a 1 - 1,5 hour practice, starting with a short mindfulness practice to center our minds. On Tuesdays we do a Hatha yoga practice focusing on the traditional Hatha yoga poses, classical sun salutations and breathing exercises while on Thursdays and Saturdays we get more flowy, going through a Vinyasa flow and on times including a couple of yin postures. Every class ends with the most important pose Savasana, relaxing and taking in the exercise. Last Saturday of each month we move our class to the beautiful Teresita beach where we can enjoy a swim after the class. I'm an Icelandic yoga teacher based in Tenerife with focus on Hatha yoga, Vinyasa, mindfulness and body awareness. I've been practicing yoga for 7 years and strongly believe in the healing power of yoga and that mindfulness and body awareness can be a great tool to get to know ourselves better. I got the urge to go deeper into my practice which let me to Maun Van in North of India to do a 200hr teacher training course with Guru Vijay and my wonderful teacher Klara. There I got a deeper understanding of the traditional Hatha yoga principles, including how to use Kriyas and Pranayama to prepare the mind and body to go deeper within. Today I teach three classes a week in Park La Granja, enjoying sharing my knowledge and being able to practice outdoors.
The practice takes place in La Granja park, a beautiful, green public park in the center of Santa Cruz. On the last Saturday each month we move the classes to Las Teresitas beach.
