Together we are going to co-write a song from scratch and then we’re going to record (demoing) our fresh song in our recording studio. No experience required! It’s ok if you can’t play an instrument. What you bring along: Ideas for what you like to write about. Maybe some catchy songtitles. Nothing and let the moment inspire you. It's OK to bring your own instrument. Pen and paper, or laptop, iPad or phone to write down, or hum, your lyric ideas. What we learn: - Co-write a song and all within a short timeframe. - Studio experience, by recording your vocals in the vocal booth (and/or your instrument). After our song has been recorded, I’ll do a quick mix for you to take home so you can play the song for your family and friends. How awesome! You have written your very own song!! ( It is also possible to book the recording studio as a stand-alone, including senior sound-engineer Ron. Contact us for more information. )
Hi, my name is Debbie and I'm an Award winning songwriter- producer. I studied Vocal Jazz at the Amsterdam Conservatory, but primarily sung in Rock, Soul and Blues Brothers Bands. Travelled the world as a singer and later on as a piano entertainer. After winning the Award in 2010, I started focussing more on songwriting and producing. I started writing columns about songwriting for Dutch musicians magazine Bandcoach. Did some bandcoaching. I have songs placed in Riverdale, Better Things and Graves. Next to songs, I write a lot of instrumental cues and soundcapes. I love to co-write with other songwriters. Writing with other songwriters can bring you to a whole new level. I still learn so much from it. It can make you fly, totally ends writers block, awakens the muse in you and make you go home with a smile and a drive to write more.
We write the song at our dinner table or another spot that is chill and relaxed or, when the Dutch weather allows, our outside seating area. We record the finished song in our home recordingstudio. Once recorded, we enjoy listening the song in our recordingstudio. Allergy alert: we have a cat!
