Captain Scott and Karen will first show you around Tuuli and point out safety features and tell you what to expect. Then we’ll hoist sails on Tuuli within minutes of departing the marina to start our 3-hour sailing trip in Puget Sound. You’ll get the chance to help raise sails and take the helm or just relax and let us do the work. If you’re new to sailing and interested in learning we’ll show you some basics. If the winds are light, we will spend some time quietly drifting, or we can motor by some local sights like the ship canal and West Point light house. If the winds are strong we can have an exciting ride, or adjust our trim and point of sail to keep you comfortable. We often get close to seals, sea lions, harbor porpoises, a variety of seabirds and maybe even Orca and Humpback whales so bring your camera to capture memories of the beauty of Puget Sound. We will show you a good time, keep you comfortable, and you’ll return to the marina energized and amazed, whether this is your first time to the Pacific Northwest or you’re a seasoned local! NEW FOR 2020 YOU WILL RECEIVE OUR COVID-19 PLAN IN THE WELCOME MESSAGE WHEN YOU BOOK YOUR TRIP, OR CONTACT US AND WE'LL SEND IT TO YOU IN ADVANCE.
Scott & Karen will share their love of the sailing life and local knowledge, having sailed together for 15 years extensively cruising the Puget Sound and Canadian waters as well as the Caribbean. Scott has lived in Seattle for 30 years, has a USCG Captains License and more than 40 years of sailing experience on a wide variety of boats on the east and west coasts, including racing small and large boats, and a blue-water ocean crossing to Hawaii. Scott and Karen have lots of stories to tell and would like to hear yours! Tuuli means “wind” in the Finnish language, and is the name of our 42-foot sailboat. You will enjoy Tuuli’s spacious cockpit, open deck and comfortable cabin below.

Based in Seattle's largest marina, we typically sail 5-6 miles west across Puget Sound towards Bainbridge Island and the Olympic Mountains. In addition to snow capped mountains (Mt Rainier and Baker volcanoes), and wildlife you won’t see from shore, sights can include scenic city skylines, historic waterfronts, ferries, and shipping traffic underway. We might even be able to watch a large sailboat race from the water. Custom trips available!
最多可有6位年满10周岁的参与者参加。 Minors can attend as long as a parent or legal guardian is with them. Age 10 is about the youngest we think is typically reasonable to come along with their families. We started our youngest son sailing with us when he was about 6…
Wear non-marking shoes, no work boots, high heels, or open toe sandals please.
Although Tuuli is stable, you need to be comfortable with normal sailboat motion. Guests should be comfortable using 3 steps boarding the boat and 4 steps entering the cabin. It’s difficult to accommodate mobility impairments so guests need to be able to move about unassisted.
