You'll explore the rapidly changing West Loop via four pizza places. Your doughcent will meet you at Lou Malnati's where you'll get your lanyard/badge, then learn about 10 styles of pizza in Chicago. You'll have a proper Chicago deep dish, a spicy Sicilian slice, an assortment of Roman al taglio slices, and finally a thin and blistered Neapolitan.
You'll taste four different styles of pizza, including: deep-dish, Sicilian, Roman al taglio and Neapolitan.
Water free; soda and alcohol can be purchased at three of the four pizzerias.
We will visit four pizzerias in the West Loop. We'll start with a deep-dish that's been around since 1971; then try a spicy Sicilian slice. We'll stop in an 80 year-old Italian grocery to meet the 3rd generation owners, taste an only-in-Chicago Roman al taglio assortment of slices and finish with a VPN-certified Neapolitan that emerges from a blazing hot wood-burning oven.
