The world famous Buda Castle is the number one touristic attraction in the Hungarian capital city. It’s a must thing to do, where you can easily spend 2 hours. The castle is actually a whole district, and it’s a footprint of the 1000 year old Hungarian state. A place of birth, cultural renaissance, royalty and prosperation but it’s history is also full of destructions and deaths. During our tour, we’ll go into the details. You’ll get to know the life of the Hungarian kings and queens and learn about most dominant architecture styles of the royal court. With the help of my old images, I’ll try to introduce you how the Castle district looked like before the WWII destructions. You’ll hear about the rumors and habits of the locals, and of course you’ll enjoy the amazing cultural heritage of the Buda Castle and also the exceptional view to Pest side. My main goal with the tour is to be an “infotainment” event, where you’ll learn and have fun in the same time :)
I'm a professional tour guide in love with my home city, Budapest. I’m also an archivist working in the City Archives of Budapest, so studying Budapest’s history is my fulltime job. Feeling comfortable in historical, architectural, political and cultural topics, but still remaining a laidback person. As a young man, I already discovered the alternative side of city, knowing what is really ‘in’ the city nowadays. I’m passionate about introducing my clients to all kind of wonders of the city. Based on my experience, I can adjust all of my tours to your interest, making sure all my tours become a pleasant memory.
