In this experience we will explore the Old Town and taste amazing unique Cretan delicacies. Our meeting point is by the famous Rimondi Fountain, at the heart of the Old Town. Our first stop will be at a traditional taverna in one of the oldest districts of the Old Town. There we will enjoy some local delicacies, cooked in the traditional way. As we continue our trip, we will visit a traditional products shop for some honey tasting, a long-lasting Cretan product. After we have wandered around the Old Town, seeing interesting places and taking amazing pictures, our last stop will be at a small traditional café, for a cup of Greek coffee served the same way as centuries ago!

Hi I’m George, I was born in a small village between Chania and Rethymno. 17 years ago, I moved to Rethymno and attended the University of Crete, Department of History and Archaeology.
My passion for history is only surpassed by my passion for the local nature and exploration of the endless Cretan landscapes. As a historian, I love to know the historic background of every piece of Cretan Tradition. As an author, I love exploring the Old Town of Rethymno and narrate the tales of the different civilizations that shaped this city.

we'll walk where the Venetian walls once were, as well as the tower clock which is no longer there. We will also visit the place where once were an underground river which caused distasters to the town and we will see private houses which hide amazing stories behind their ruined walls.
