体验内容
Here, You'll be experiencing to paint traditional Portuguese tiles from the 19th century.
First, you'll be given a small explanation about the history and the techniques of the ceramics in Portugal.
The activity starts with the opening of a stencil, of a typical tile pattern of the traditional Lisbon facades, using a manual process, hand-drawn, and hand-cut. You'll keep your stencil.
Next, You will paint 8 tiles (7,5cmx7,5cm), already glazed. You can paint all with your stamp, or use others opened by us on the atelier. If you need some extra tiles we can also provide them for a small fee.
After painting, your tiles will be cooked. You'll put them in the gazete, which looks like a small shelf, that will go inside our kiln.
The cooking process lasts about 3 days. You can pick up your tiles at our atelier when they're done or we can also send them to you for an additional fee.
We'll be waiting for you!

Hello, I’m Miguel Moura!
I grew up amongst the tiles in a ceramics family-business
I didn’t have the traditional training, but practical training in loco, accompanied by a Master of Portuguese ceramics.
I've been working now for over 10 years, drawing enormous pleasure from what I do.
At the moment I work for museums, shops, and private architecture projects. I'm proud of having my work scattered around the world.
I enjoy having the opportunity to spread the culture of the country and the city I was born, grew up and want to live in.

- A fantastic experience which was the highlight of our stay in Portugal. Miguel is a fenomenal host, and a great person to talk to. He was kind enough to reschedule the workshop, due to new coronavirus related policies. We had a blast, and the tiles (lots of them!) turned out really nice.
- If you're interested in art and tiles, this is the workshop for you! Being creative in an relaxing atmosphere while learning something about tiles and their history was a great experience for me. Miguel an his girlfriend are very nice and open persons. I really enjoyed this workshop a lot! :)
- Since I read all the reviews I already expected the workshop to be great but it was truly more than just that! Miguel was a very passionate and open host. He was always making sure we felt comfortable and despite the fact that the main reason we were there was to learn something about tiles, Miguel also talked about so much else and gave amazing insides to this amazing city and also gave lots of recommendations for places to see/go that you might not find in every travel guide. All in all a great experience and surprise for my girlfriend so I definitely recommend!
- Hanging out with Miguel was a great way to spend a few hours in Lisbon! Miguel is a truly wonderful guy, making us feel at home and sharing his passion for his art and its history. My artistic skills are limited but in no way detracted from the experience, and my fiancé created some beautiful tiles we'll take home and work into our home! This was the first thing we did in Lisbon and was a beautiful start. Miguel recommended a few places that we'll be checking out over the next few days.
