Did you know that greens are likely the healthiest thing you can put in your body? Greens fight disease and are full of fiber, vitamins and minerals, including antioxidants and phytochemicals. Greens lower cholesterol, prevent heart disease, and reduce the risk of cancer. But they also TASTE AMAZING!! Come to my house where I will show you the steps I take to prepare succulent greens from scratch— step by step— to create the best, most flavorful and nutritious result. Guests will learn by participating in all of the steps. I will have purchased the raw greens and we will begin preparing them as soon as you arrive so don't be late! The remaining components of our meal will already be prepped ahead of time. As soon as the greens are finished, we will sit down to eat a truly phenomenal meal. Guests should let me know whether they have dietary restrictions (vegans, vegetarians, kosher, pescatarians or non-red meat eaters) when they book the experience so that our greens seasoning reflects that. The greens can be the main event along with some homemade cornbread (a completely vegan meal), or they can be featured as a side dish to a meal that includes fish, chicken, or pork.
I'm a natural foods foodie and a "nuevo-soul" cook. Thanks to my mother and grandmother, I have decades of experience making southern style greens-- from scratch!! Over the years and generations, the recipes evolved to kick up nutritional value, to occasionally eliminate meat altogether, to reduce fat and cholesterol, and just to expand the footprint and take our palates on wondrous journeys with new and amazing flavor profiles.
