Firstly, we will get to know each other and every person's comfort level with the horses as well as sign some paperwork. Secondly, we will saddle up! Familiarize yourself with your horse and the tack as well as take in the sights and smells of the farm (which are much better than you may think!). Our horses want to get to know you as much as you would like to get to know them. If you are lucky, our barn cats - Loretta and Nyx - as well as our St. Bernards may come for a chat. Then, we will spend a bit of time in the arena to learn the seat and commands. This lets you become more comfortable with your horse. If any problems arise, I will address them in the ring to put your mind at ease. Lastly, we will take a leisurely ride around the 180 acre property. We generally see White-tailed Deer and turkey on these rides. If you are coming in the evening, you will be treated to a beautiful sunset with the mountains in the background. After we get back to the barn and give the horses a well deserved treat, come up to the house for a glass of sweet tea or coffee. Snacks will also be available. If you didn't meet them before, the St. Bernards will definitely visit you now. My horses can have riders up to 20% of their body weight. This is more accommodating with experience.

I have been showing, riding, training, and teaching about horses, since I was quite young. I have been in 4H and placed regionally in horse judging and placed for nationals in the Paso Fino specific league. Other than showing Paso Finos, I have shown Saddlebreds professionally. Currently, I train horses on our property and have some young riders that have taken lessons at the farm. My family and I regularly complete trail rides upwards of 30 consecutive miles through the national forest.

Horses are large animals with personalities just like humans. They are also just as smelly as they are wonderful. Be prepared to get dirty! Please message me beforehand to discuss directions.
