To get started we will meet at my favorite local distillery, The Florida Cane Distillery for an indepth tasting and guided tour of the facility. From there its a short hop down the block to one of the most unique craft spots in Ybor, The Cigar City Cider and Meadery. After a quick flight there we will walk down the historic 7th Ave to one of the newer breweries, Zydeco Brew Werks. We will stay in this spot slightly longer than others (aka long enough for a beer and one of the delicious appetizers they serve) before heading out to Gaspar's Rum Company for tour/tasting and finally Coppertail Brewing Company where we will end the tour. I highly recommend staying for the guided Coppertail Tour (about 30min long), but otherwise I will be walking back to our starting location and am happy to guide any participants to any spots they'd care to revisit. Total distance: 1.1 miles one way. During the summer months we will walk the entire way, but during the darker winter months, participants can request we rideshare to the final destination due to the somewhat "industrial" setting of the walk.
Shareable Appetizer(s) at Zydeco Brew Werks (1 appetizer per 2 people on the tour)
A Shareable flight of ciders and meads at CCCM.
Cost of tour at Gaspar's Rum
Backpack with water, light snacks, spare socks, and I'll happily carry any extra items you purchase on the route.
The Florida Cane Distillery is a distillery creating Vodka, Gin, Whiskey, Moonshine, and Rum with all ingredients sourced locally. Cigar City Cider and Mead fills a unique niche here in a primarily beer and spirits neighborhood. Zydeco Brew Werks is a newcomer to the area, but has rapidly won folks over. Gaspar's Rum Company is veritable cornucopia of rum flavors to try! Coppertail is the big dawg around, but hasn't left its craft roots
Understand that while this is a relatively short walk, Florida heat can be deceptive. Plan on bring a hat, sunglasses, and good walking shoes in addition to any medication you may need.
