We will begin with self introductions and explain our ancestral connection to our band name and these Great Smoky Mountains. We will then introduce the music genre, how it developed and offer a brief history. Then we'll begin the acoustical performance of a wide variety of Appalachian folk music tunes including songs, instrumentals, ballads, and spirituals on several different instruments. As we proceed through the tunes, we'll offer some historical details on the tunes and instruments, and invite guests to play along with us with on washtub bass, musical spoons, and rattles. We will perform between 20 and 25 tunes. The performance will last approximately 1.5 hours. At the end of the performance, we will offer our CD's and hand-crafted musical spoons for sale.
