The studio is located in an old market, not too far from the station, you might like to come a bit earlier to wander around. You can taste local honey from a beekeeper or get a cup of coffee in a cafe and watch market life in action before coming to the studio on the Mezzanine floor. This is my own art studio filled with abstract paintings and a big table where we'll be working on. The Therapeutic Arts Class is a wonderful way to check in with yourself, it promotes mindful awareness, slowing down and getting in touch with your creative Self through the use of a gentle water colour technique and a guided meditation. It is a mostly relaxing and soothing experience for the mind and helps reduce levels of stress and anxiety. You don't need any previous creative experience and it's good to note that this class is not about making a master piece at all, instead it focuses on the creative process.... (See it as a yoga class for the soul!). The class is offered in a safe space, tea and materials will be provided. You will need to book in advance as there are only 6 places available per class, so don't wait too long!
I run a busy Artistic Therapy practice in London, teach Abstract Art in London and work with all sorts of groups to support creativity and wellbeing including prisoners. The second half of my week I spend in arty Brighton :-) Here I have my creative studio, develop my own art for exhibitions and work with people interested in personal and creative development. I have 18 years of experience in the field of Therapeutic Arts as well as teaching art and am registered as a Therapeutic Arts Practitioner with professional and governing bodies in the UK.
Tea will be available
Art materials are provided
This experience is based in my personal artist studio based at an old market (The Brighton Open Market) - you can choose to wander around the market after our class, pick up some lovely fresh food for a lunch in the park just over the road or keep exploring this part of town.
