We'll kick it off at the hub of Lancaster, our colonial square, and begin to explore the concentration of historical sites spanning three centuries - all within just a couple of blocks! The nation's oldest continuously operating farmers market and theater, the birthplace of the Conestoga Wagon, homes of some of Lancaster's most famous citizens, colonial churches, and much more will be brought to life through stories, characters, arts and architecture. You will learn the out-sized roll our small city played in the birth and growth of America as you stroll through charming streets and alleys and begin to understand the building blocks that take us to the present day.
Sound great? Well there is still much more. After our old city history walk, we will whet our whistle at some of Lancaster's finest craft beer establishments - and the history isn't over. You will learn how much of our colorful past is tied to beer. From 19th century German influence to amazing tales of prohibition ingenuity, the beer flowing through the taps comes from the present day but reaches back across the last two centuries - and it's delicious!

This is a couple friendly, year-round experience. We can comfortably adapt to any weather conditions or personal preferences. If you don't see a time that works for you, please contact me directly.

I take our fascinating history seriously, not just appreciating the many sites, but looking behind the curtain for the threads that knit together past and present - exploring stories that bring characters to life and give texture to the experience. In addition to walking the oldest part of downtown Lancaster, we will be ducking into some of my favorite back alley brew pubs. These are off the beaten path, but definitely on the right side of brewing history. Springhouse Brewing Company, 2nd Gear Taproom, and Wacker Brewery are on the agenda and you will love the beer as well as the incredible stories.

- Our tour guide Michael showed us a wonderful time while walking the historical streets around Lancaster. Lots of beautiful architecture, historical facts, and stories about the people who lived and passed through Lancaster and of course drinking beer! We definitely could have used a few more beers along with our Lancaster history tour but unfortunately due to Covid many of the wonderful craft breweries are closed. Michael was kind to us and was Covid friendly, he wore a mask and even provided Bluetooth headsets to talk to us over the loud streets while guiding us around town! Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend touring with Michael again. Thank you!
- Mike showed us so many great places in the town. He was super knowledgeable and it was perfect for covid because we were able to experience the town and drink some beer without running into any problems. He also brought Bluetooth head sets so that we could clearly hear all the amazing history!
