Ask any Singaporean and they'd mention what Geylang is famous for- as a red light district and a place for good food! Therefore it only makes sense to explore the neighbourhood through an oral adventure- our food options are guaranteed to satisfy a variety of diets to the most adventurous of stomachs, the best places for the king of fruits- durian to the renowned frog leg porridge. Along the way, you'd be guided tour guides qualified by the Singapore Tourism Board. But we personally find our best qualifications being how we're residents of the neighbourhood #streetcred #geylangrepresent We promise to fulfil your fitness steps goals as we explore the 'Lorongs' (lanes!) of Geylang and it's backalleys on foot, weaving expertly through them with the untold stories of the community. You will learn about the social ecosystem of vices, religious associations, low-wage migrant workers and the external influences and issues beneath this the manicured veneer of cosmopolitan Singapore. Our narrative will be woven into the food options, so do come hungry! Check us out here! https://www.visitsingapore.com/see-do-singapore/explorers/cai-yinzhou/
A personal encounter with a group of low-wage migrant workers in 2013 led to the forming of Geylang Adventures, where we offered services like free haircuts on the streets of Geylang - and eventually tours dedicated to showcasing an alternative side to the often misunderstood neighbourhood. Through food, Geylang Adventures tour aims to create awareness of the social ecosystem in the red-light district of Singapore, an often misunderstood place. Through the past 5 years, we've brought over 3000 people through Geylang including students, academics, tourists and policy makers.

Singaporeans love our food! Our tour menu has been curated to reflect contrasts of the neighbourhood, from local cuisines to exciting offerings by new migrant entrants, juxtaposed by tradition to modern interpretations, alcohol inclusive! The real challenge will be our attempt to burn those calories as we walk through the streets, red-light districts and backalleys of Geylang. Route variations may occur depending on groups' dietary preferences.
Do let us know if you have any dietary restrictions so that we can better plan our routes when you come on our tours!
