A walk around Fowey to explore the history, literary connections and hidden gems of this lovely Cornish town. All on made-up surfaces, so only general sturdy footwear and clothing required. Some moderate uphill sections involved, at a leisurely pace! We will cover the maritime and railway history; pilgrims and churches, history, defence and growth of the settlement; former dwellings and settings inspiring writers with local connections. Most of the time is spent with views of the busy estuary. Also offered as an early evening option to take advantage of the beauty of the town and countryside as darkness falls. Work up an appetite for dinner with sunset, moonrise, stargazing and listening to owls - to name just a few of the dusk delights! Note: at your option, some unmade paths can be included, so please adjust footwear accordingly.

Sturdy shoes for walking on made-up surfaces and on moderate hills.
This walk is within the town on made-up surfaces and includes moderate hills (both up and down) but kept to a minimum. Fowey has tiny streets, so I will advise on these and keep you safe near cars.
