Following paths only locals know, we'll trace the footsteps of famous philosophers and politicians as I'll take you through some of the most picturesque areas around the ancient heart of the city. After about 2 hrs we'll conveniently end at Monastiraki square, that’s full of places to eat, shop etc.
We'll discuss how the creators of democracy strove everyday to improve this political system and how we can copy some clever hacks they introduced. What's incredible is that we'll actually be standing and discussing at the exact same places the ancient Athenians were gathering to discuss and argue themselves! Based on my personal academic research, I'll point out hidden details you won't find in any tour books.
Keep in mind this is NOT a long sightseeing walking tour, so if it's your first day in Athens, it's good to join another walking tour of the city, as a general introduction to Athens. My experience is actually a walking seminar that focuses mostly on delving a bit deeper into history, politics and the important lessons we can learn by discussing and sharing our ideas.
Other things to note
Certain parts of this walk require an easy hiking uphill and include a few steps too. So if you're using a wheelchair please contact me in advance so we can adjust the route to your convenience

We'll meet at Thissio which is very close to the Flea Market and just a minute away from ‘Thissio’ metro station. Soon we'll be leaving busy tourist areas behind, walking uphill, enjoying amazing views of Athens, and we'll finally end at the busy square of Monastiraki, which is next to the metro station.
