We're going to explore the New Town area of Carcassonne, through your camera or smartphone lens! We'll kick things off by talking about the principles of great photography, but without any of the unnecessary jargon that comes with it, and we'll look at what we think makes a perfect photo. Our tour will work from the Train Station and through to the Port of the Canal du Midi, and along to the Pont Marengo, pausing at various points to reflect on a new aspect of photography, and then jumping behind the lens to try them out. We'll walk along the cobbled streets and lanes of Carcassonne, finding spots to learn about black and white photography, landscape, portrait and action shots. The two-hour tour will move to the more popular areas around Place Carnot, before turning to the famous Pont Vieux for a final view and summary. Our online community is accessible to all those taking part, and details of this will be offered to participants, at the end.
We're Instagram friendly! Our tour is for photography beginners, for those with a real passion for taking snaps, and for those that know a thing or two about cameras. All welcome!
Please bring and wear a face-mask. Please also bring and use hand sanitiser. This walk respects social distancing.

We'll visit Carcassonne's beautiful Train Station , and move along, across the cobbles, to a point on the Canal du Midi, and then into the Square Chenier. From there we will work towards the centre of the New Town, the very popular Place Carnot, before descending across to the River Aude, which its perfect view of the Citadel, quieter parts, and complete our tour at the Pont Vieux - the old bridge.

- Laurence was such a lovely and welcoming person - he helped me find a parking spot (always an issue in cities) and as I was the only one and wanted to do the Citadel tour as well he offered to take me for a 4 hours photo walk - and qudos to him as it was absolutely pouring down with rain. Still, we had a super lovely chat about life in France and he is very knowledgeable on both photography and the city itself. I managed to get some absolutely amazing shots of the city despite the rain! A very superb experience I'd recommend anyone to take when visiting Carcassonne!! :)
- We loved this experience . We were surprised by how much I learned and how much we enjoyed ourselves . We immediately put to good use all of the tips we had learned from our time with Laurence and it somehow made it feel even better value . Please, don't hesitate to contact Laurence if you can. He's a gem and so entertaining and friendly.
