When in Gran Canaria eat as the canarians eat! I want you to experience real canarian food, the most genuine one and, above all, the one you wouldn’t find in restaurants for tourists. For this reason I decided to open the doors of my house and and show you the most authentic and genuine canarian dishes; those we locals eat at home and call "platos de toda la vida". These dishes are very hard to find, included in countryside “Tavernas”, as they belong to the lesser-known culinary tradition. Tradition that, thanks to old generation canarians, is kept alive in private homes, far from mass tourist places. During my experience you’ll discover, taste and learn how to make dishes you wouldn’t have a chance to find in tourist restaurants but only in local private homes. Callos, Garbanzas Compuestas, Caldo de Millo, Conejo en Sal Morejo, Huevos Moles, are just a few dishes we’ll discover together. My experience enables you to take home more than the usual postcards as souvenirs. I'm fully convinced that to learn a recipe, during a travel, represents an effective way to reminisce about your trip and the "tastiest" way to make your vacation memories last longer!English/Spanish/Italian spoken

I’m Alfonso, from Gran Canaria. I spent my whole life combining cooking with writing, my greatest passions. From my mother I’ve inherited a love for cooking, in particular a love for canarian cuisine. I’ve worked in local canarian “Tavernas”, cooking exclusively canarian dishes, for 7 years. Also, I’ve been providing intimate cooking classes about canarian cuisine for 4 years. Last but not least, I hosted, until Feb 2018, many travellers and helped them discover real canarian dishes, far from tourist places. My love for cooking led me to publish my own recipe book about canarian cuisine.
I'll cover the expenses of all ingredients. If you want you can take home with you the dishes we cooked together.

I will provide all the necessary utensils for our experience, aprons included.
This culinary experience takes place in the kitchen of my own house located in Sonneland, Maspalomas area.
