You can be a SUSHI MASTER! and learn basic Japanese ingredients, easy and practical cooking way and beautiful vegetable cutting way in my lesson. We will cook miso soup and 3 varieties of sushi, like nigiri sushi, traditional rolled sushi and California roll. All dishes are dairy free and animal protein free. At first, I will explain and show how to make sushi rice and “dashi” which is an essential Japanese soup stock made from mushroom and seaweed. Afterwards, we will make sushi and miso soup together. As soon as we finish cooking, we will all sit down, chat, and enjoy our culinary creations together with a luscious green tea. I also prepare small dessert. My lessons are not only about watching demonstrations but also putting them into practice because I would like to give you enough information to help you recreate everything on my dishes when you return home.
Hi! I am Saeko. I have worked as a professional food stylist & a recipe creator for 3 years. My passions are exploring and discovering food and cooking way! I was born and raised in Osaka. I used to work as a Japanese chef in Denmark and traveled over 20 countries. Living abroad, I taught my foreign friends how to cook Japanese foods. My home cooking studio is nearby Mondo-yakujin station. It takes only 20 mins from Osaka (Umeda) and 30 mins from Kobe (Sannomiya) by Hankyu train line, and is located in Nishinomiya-city. Nishinomiya has a lot of sake breweries, and is one of the most popular places to live for Japanese people in the Kansai area. Though it is not well-known to tourists, I guarantee that you can feel the ambiance of an authentic local Japanese.
