Discover the Jewish heritage of Budapest with a passionate guide. Explore one of the most popular areas of inner Pest. The 7th district is where Jewish culture has bloomed for over 200 years and today hosts the largest and most active Jewish community of Eastern Europe. We visit the neighborhood of the Dohány Street Synagogue, which is the largest in Europe and the second largest in the world. As a highlight of the tour we visit the Orthodox Synagogue inside (the entrance fee is included in the tour's price).

We walk through the Jewish Quarter, on the streets of the former Ghetto, which hosts synagogues, monuments, kosher restaurants, and kosher shops. Hear local stories of this area and about Budapest. During our walk visit the Carl Lutz Memorial, dedicated to one of the Righteous Among the Nations, who is also known as Hungary’s Schindler. Then pass by the lively Gozsdu Passage and the Kazinczy Street Synagogue.

- Daniel "the other" was my guide. At the beginning he told me that this Tour is going to be his first one. Sure the start was a little bit diffuse and there was'nt a really good introduction to what we are going to see and explore, but in the end I had a nice experience and a lot of insider knowledge. Due to Covid all the synagogues were closed. That's why we needed to rearrange plans by drinking a tasty coffee in a very cozy book-coffee-shop. Daniel add an extra stop and so we went to heroes square, where he introduced me to the hungarian history and told me every statue's very detailed story - without any notes. Impressive! It was nice and in some points improvable, but we didn't had an easy situation here. Thank you very much, Daniel.
- Our tour with Barika was outstanding. She was passionate about the history of Judaism and informed us in a manner that immersed us. Additionally she shared some really personal stories (which we are really hoping she will one day pen on paper) that were incredibly moving, and delivered in a way which handled humanity so delicately. This, we felt, is a challenge due to the subject matter that was being discussed and this was one of the reasons she was such an unique guide. She was an infectiously happy person who was helpful and encouraged questions/ insights in to the information that she delivered. We left the tour wondering how 2 and a half hours had passed already. Made our day today! Thank you! One of the highlights of our stay.
