Learn about the history of food in Hong Kong, where it came from, how it was influenced by the Chinese and British settlement alike. This 4-hour tour will let you try many local delicacies across Hong Kong Island. We start the day with a traditional Dim Sum breakfast in an old tea house. We find ourselves transported back to a bygone era as we sample the most authentic Dim Sum available in HK. Next will be a Michelin guide recommended Wonton Noodle shop that is run by the 3rd generation of the same family. This local speciality is a simple dish but one that only a true master can perfect. We then take a tea break with a cup of Milk Tea, perhaps the most pervasive legacy of British rule, a beverage that Hong Kongers love! Taking the tram, we will visit another family-run restaurant, which dates back to the Qing Dynasty (pre-1900’s) where we sample the best BBQ Pork in Hong Kong, cooked in the traditional style, served with rice and homemade sauces. Another Michelin recommendation and a favourite of the late Anthony Bourdain. Our last stop will be at a bakery with a long history to try the Chinese take on the English egg tart. A personal favourite of former HK Gov. Chris Patten.
