We will meet in "Parque Bustamante" located in downtown Santiago (General Bustamante 70 st). Then, i'll drive 20 kms towards the hill to the access point at the beginning of the trail (20 minutes). Once there, I'll give a quick briefing about the hill and the trail, then we will start hiking. We will do everything at your own pace. The idea is to enjoy the landscape, get away from the city, get some exercise, have a good talk and have fun. Since im a tourism proffesional, i can also give you very good tips about the things you want to see during your stay. There are no rules or demands. We will enjoy the best hill of Santiago the way we want. After a 90 minutes hike (more or less), we will reach the summit, which is at 1635 MAMSL. If we are lucky, we will be able to see some condors. Manquehue means: "place of condors" in the Mapudungun language. We will stay at the summit for a while. I'll show you the good spots for pictures and we are going to relax and have some snacks. Then - whenever you are ready - we will start the hike down. After getting to the bottom, i'll drive you to the drop off point in Los Dominicos metro station where you will be able to take a walk through the national Monument called "Pueblo Los Dominicos" before taking the subway back.
My name is Sebastian. I'm a tourism management professional. I grew up in the south of Chile in a city named Puerto Varas surrounded by lakes, mountains, forests and tourism industry. I got my degree in Tourism Management at the Universidad Austral and it's been my profession since. After i graduated, I lived a couple of years in Seattle working as an snowboard instructor. After that, i returned to Chile to develop my other passion that is playing music. I have a good background experience taking care of guests and working as a guide in different kind of touristic activities. I just founded my own hike start-up named Hike Santiago, which is what i do 24/7 using the airbnb platform to book and promote the hikes. I love hikings, bike riding and enjoying the natural places that Santiago and the rest of Chile has to offer. =)

Cerro Manquehue is the highest hill in the Santiago Valley. It's 20 minutes away from downtown Santiago (by car). However, it's access is complicated if you do not know how to get there. There's no public transportation and is tricky for an uber to get there. It's a hill only hiked by people who know the route and locals. Once there, you can enjoy the nature and a unique view of the city. (You can ask for a customized schedule)
The schedule for the tour can be either in the morning or in the afternoon. It also can be agreed in advance. The pick-up point and the drop off point are different.
