We begin our historic and esoteric tour of the old city with the Saint-Jean cathedral, a magnificent gothic style church filled with images left by alchemists. Then delve into the highlights and little-known secrets of the old city itself, a jewel of 15th and 16th centuries of more than 600 town houses. Its rich heritage is filled with the stories of dynasties and the lesser-known hermetic societies of Renaissance. Along the way, we get to visit streets where the very first masonic houses were established in the 1750s. Alchemists laboratories… Then i will lead you through the most famous traboules, passageways through the renaissance houses, but will also get you through you the lesser-known of those, leading to discreet marvels of hidden courtyards…
I have been working as a local guide in Lyon for 20 years +, and know the city, its history and little-known stories inside and out. I specialized more specifically in its esoteric history (alchemy, sorcery, free-masonry and occult groups), a history which is very rich with Lyon indeed ! I am also a professionally published writer (novels, short stories…) and collector of ancient books about the history of Lyon, and the various esoteric traditions.
